Willow Weaving 2023

On Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th July Sally Wheal and Claire Butler undertook sessions with the children teaching them the art of willow weaving. They have completed another tree, a deer and badger to add to the other wild animals, down the side of the playground fence, as part of the schools ongoing projects linked to the community and National Park Ranger service as one of their Ambassador schools.  The project also helps to promote the importance of sustainability within the environment and how the smallest contribution can have such a big impact.

One of the children commented “I can’t wait for next year when Sally and Claire come again next year. I look forward to willow weaving and making the different animals. Mrs B says next year we are adding wild flowers, another stag and our church!”
