WOW! What a great afternoon the key stage 1 and Reception children have had today with the Community Police Officer Anthony Boswell.
As part of the PSHE Curriculum the children are investigating and learning about the agencies which help us in the community, which include the Police, Firefighters, Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, First Responders and the Air Ambulance.
Everyone asked lots of questions and were absolutely delighted when they were given the opportunity to explore PC Boswell’s police vehicle especially when the siren was activated! There were excited faces as they were each given the opportunity to try out the ‘speed gun’ then give out parking tickets!
The children also enjoyed an interactive power point presentation regarding road safety and it was lovely to see how engaged they all were within this part of the session with PC Boswell.
This was a wonderful opportunity for the children to experience first hand what the role of a Police Officer is and how much they do, from arresting criminals and preventing crime to liaising with the community and visiting schools.
