What an exciting, fun filled time we had at Whitehall this year! We tried their indoor climbing wall on our first afternoon followed by a delicious dinner before undertaking a night hike around the reservoir by torchlight with a little help from the stars!
Everybody actually got some sleep and up bright and early for breakfast! We headed to Coombs reservoir for some canoeing and for some of us swimming! After a quick dry off we challenged ourselves on the zip wire and the net climb before gearing up for a superb game of Haggis Bandits involving much sneaking through the undergrowth in the dark attempting to outwit and evade capture by the other teachers!
Our final morning we headed out to the Roaches for some scrambling over rocks and squeezing through small gaps! Some of us managed to avoid the torrential downpour but some were not so lucky!
The most important part of the trip for me was seeing our wonderful children push themselves past boundaries, face and overcome fears with the realization that they are stronger than they think! It was great to see them making new friends with children from the other schools and dealing with situations that were completely new for them. I hope they will treasure these memories and maybe draw on some of their experiences, perseverance and tenaciousness I saw from them all.
