This year to mark World Book Day we had a story week, beginning on Monday 2nd of March 2026. The children were invited to bring in some of their books from home each day. Time was dedicated throughout the day to read these, or extracts from these, to each class. Key Stage 1 even enjoyed stories at lunchtime on their trip to Sudbury Museum of Childhood!
To mark the official World Book Day on Thursday, we had an assembly on what World Book day is and the importance of reading. Katie Kitchen had made us some fantastic Gruffalo biscuits for pudding at lunchtime.
On Friday the 6th of March 2026 the children came to school in ‘dress your best’, bringing a teddy bear along for the day too. Our teddy friends joined us for more stories! Katie had been hard at work again today, making Winnie-the-Pooh cakes for us. They were delicious!
We ended the day by playing a game of ‘stations’, with the children choosing a bears house when the music stopped. They had The Hundred Acre Wood, Deep Dark Cave, Paddington and the Three Bears Cottage, to choose from.
