This morning we were joined by Hannah Will for a Collective Worship focusing on the story of the Good Samaritan. This is a particularly important story for our school as our school Christian vision ‘Caring and sharing as part of God’s family’ is based upon Luke 10:27 ‘Loving our neighbour as we love ourselves.’ This is where Jesus uses the story of the Good Samaritan to explain who our neighbour is, and that a neighbour is anyone who needs our help.
The people Jesus was speaking to had asked Him how they could achieve eternal life, and Jesus told them that they should ‘love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and strength, and if you love thy neighbour you will have eternal life in the kingdom of heaven with God.’
