Harvest Festival

This afternoon, Friday 17th October 2025, we held our harvest festival in St. Giles’ Church in Hartington.

The children had asked to present information that we have been learning in Collective Worship about Fairtrade and the harvest of the world beyond Hartington. The children have shown great interest in learning about Fairtrade and how everyone should receive a fair price for the produce they provide.

We sang a selection of songs, with the children’s favourite song being ‘Wouldn’t it be funny’, where the words talked about children making all the rules and the teachers wearing pyjamas!

Some of the class 1 children read out lines from their acrostic prayers, spelling out the word autumn, whilst others gave suggestions of what they were thankful for this season.

Class 2 children delivered some of their learning about how we can protect our earth, a small change by us all can make a big difference.

It was lovely to see parents, governors and members of the community in the congregation.
