On Friday 26th we were visited by Mr and Mrs Bridden for our puppet assembly.
The puppets told the story of Joseph, the dreamer. Jacob (Joseph’s dad) had 11 sons and Joseph was his favourite one. The brothers knew that Joseph was the favourite and therefore did not like him and often mocked him. One day, the brothers decided to sell Joseph into slavery.
Joseph became a slave of Potiphar, an official of Pharaoh, and was put in charge of his household. He was wrongly accused of a crime which led to his imprisonment. Joseph had an incredible ability to interpret dreams which was noted in prison. When Pharaoh started having troubling dreams about seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine, Joseph was summoned. He correctly interpreted the dreams and advised Pharaoh to store food, a plan that led Pharaoh to make Joseph the second-in-command of the entire kingdom.
This story highlights how God can work through difficult circumstances and human actions to fulfill a greater plan.
Thank you, Mr and Mrs Bridden for another amazing assembly.
