Magna Science Adventure

It can be hard at times deciding on where to take children for an enrichment day and making sure that that it is meaningful, fun, can offer challenge and excitement and be suitable for children aged between four and eleven. Well, we can honestly say our visit to Magna Science Adventure Centre met all the requirements!

What a fantastic day we all had from learning about space, planets, rockets and seasons in our workshop, to roaming round the dis-used steel mill, and learning of its history in an explosive presentation which impacted all our senses! Then following on from all that, we investigated the four elements of Air, Wind, Fire and Earth through a range of ‘hands-on’ activities, visual and auditory presentations and live demonstrations. There were no complaints, groans or moans from anyone, everyone was completely immersed in the day and what Magna has to offer. This is a venue we all would highly recommend.

When we were leaving there were cries of when they could return and on the journey home there was a constant buzz on the coach and children talking about their day, what they did and what they learnt. An amazing day to celebrate the achievements and hard work through the school year.

Have a brilliant and safe summer everyone and we will see you all back in September. This also includes the current year six pupils who have said to me, as they were leaving the coach and everyone was wishing them good luck, ‘You can’t get rid of us that easily, we will all be back on your first two days, we don’t start school until the following week!’ How wonderful! We can’t wait to hear about their adventures.
