Pasta Event World Record Attempt!

World Guinness Book of Records Pasta Event!

The children here at Hartington have demonstrated their absolute joy when it comes to taking part in any cookery activity, whether it’s part of the school curriculum or after school club their enthusiasm is infectious. So, when we were invited to take part in the Jamie Oliver World Book of Record attempt for children to prepare, cook and eat a pasta dish at the same time on the same day, there was never any doubt at what the children’s response would be. A resounding YES!

The ingredients were purchased, the tables cleaned, the internet connection primed and the children put into their cooking groups, with aprons on, hair tied back and hands washed then dried. The countdown began at eleven o’clock when Jamie Oliver appeared with his team to a huge cheer ready for the challenge to begin.

Gosh what a world wind the next hour became as children were chopping, slicing, whisking, kneading and mixing as they made their tomato salsa and spaghetti pasta. Once cooked the children then sat down for the tasting and sampling of their hard word. It was delicious! Well done everyone. The challenge completed, we now just have to wait and see if it becomes a World Record. Fingers crossed!
