Local PCSO visits School

As part of our work towards achieving the Healthy School Community Award (Health and Wellbeing), we invited PC Boswell into the school to talk to our children.

Ruby quoted: I found it interesting and helpful to my everyday life because we now know what the consequences will be if we take inappropriate action.

Sam said: I found his explanation easy to understand and I now understand a bit more about crime and its punishment.

At 15.00 hours on 08.03.17 I visited Hartington Primary School and spoke to the kids about actions / consequences and crime, what can happen if you commit crime. The  30 minute talk/discussion with the kids were very interactive with them both listening and then asking further questions with regards to what happens if type scenario. The whole discussion was to try and think about their actions relating to crime / anti social behavior and can happen when you are applying for a career. I told the kids if they received a criminal record for whatever offence and the career they go complete a criminal record check, the offence they committed would show up and could affect the chances of getting that job or career.

I also briefly spoke about the internet and speaking to other people through messaging. I advised them they must be careful what they write or post on social media because once you have posted or click send, it’s always traceable and if you have wrote something offensive and it causes the receiver or persons alarm, harassment or distress this could lead you being in trouble with the police.

Whole the talk/discussion was very positive and very interactive with the kids understanding the right from wrong and think regarding their actions because it could affect them in the future.
