The NSPCC came to the school on Thursday 5th October to talk to KS 1 & 2 pupils about how they have the right to ‘Speak Out & Stay Safe’. The representative from the NSPCC introduced them to ‘Buddy’ who encourages children, if they are worried about anything, to speak to a grown up they can trust or talk to Childline on 0800 1111. A child friendley action song prompted the children to remember the Childline number.

Talking about the ‘Underwear Rule’ with your children

The NSPCC’s work in schools will help encourage conversations about staying safe – and they have a number of child-friendly materials to help you carry on the conversation afterwards. That includes ‘The Underwear Rule’, a simple way for parents to help keep children safe from sexual abuse – without using scary words or even mentioning sex.
