Dear Parents/Carers,

The Department for Education (DfE) have introduced new guidance for schools and Local Authorities (LAs) for managing school attendance.  They have also introduced a new national framework for penalty notices and amended the law.  These changes took effect from 19th August 2024 and all schools and LAs acrossm the country are expected to follow the new statutory guidance.

We have sent home the Derbyshire County Council update for parents, the poster and the Penalty Notice Advice for Parents documents.
