Lets dig for Derbyshire!

The School has been fortunate to be invited to take part in an archaeological dig at Under Whitle Farm, Sheen.

This will take place on Friday 24th June 2016 and will involve the whole school.

As an introductory croplesson, on Wednesday 8th June,  Dr Catherine Parker Heath (Project Manager of the Community Archaeology Project at Under Whittle Farm, Sheen) and Rose Clarke (Peak Park Ranger) attended school to develop the children’s interest in the principles of excavating artifacts and how areas of archaeological interest are identified. This has stimulated the children’s imagination and excitement.

Jacob Blackwell quoted: “I can’t wait to get digging and find out who was alive all those years ago in Sheen.”
