This year&#8217;s theme was &#8216;Celebrating Sisters&#8217;. The Great Big Live Assembly showcased some of the stories of amazing Black women who have made our world a better place. The assembly was hosted by BBCs Gemma Hunt, a well-known presenter of Swashbuckle and Songs of Praise and Jeriah Kibusi, a BAFTA award-winning 12 year old journalist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The assembly helped children to see:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Why celebrating Black History matters<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What difference Black women have made and still make to our world.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8216;I loved hearing about how women can make a huge impact in our world and how inspirational they are. I remembered all the things I had learnt about Rosa Parks last year which was the best thing I learnt about&#8217;.
