Class 2 pupils have undertaken five weeks of music lessons with Rachel Wilkes from Music Partnership. The sessions culminated in a musical performance using voices and playing musical instruments. The lessons were based around the composer\u00a0 John Adams and a piece of music called ‘Short Ride in a Fast Machine’ which was inspired by a ride Adams took in his brother’s new sports car!<\/p>\n

During the sessions the pupils listened to orchestral music, invented their own musical motifs, performed an ensemble and learned musical language appropriate to the tasks.<\/p>\n

Over the next five weeks Rachel Wilkes will be working with class 1 prior to the whole school working with Rachel in preparation for a musical performance at the end of the school year.<\/p>\n
