Despite the unpredictable weather, members from the local community, governors and parents came to the school\u2019s termly Community Lunch. The format was going to be a little different this time! Instead of playing bingo or having a raffle it had been decided that the newly formed choir was to sing in public in aid of the Alzheimer\u2019s Society.<\/p>\n

This is one of the charities that the School Council had chosen to support at the beginning of the academic year as part of the Courageous Advocacy strand and being a part of the \u2018White Peak Group Benefice\u2019.<\/p>\n

This is defined by the Church of England as \u2018Speaking out against injustice and acting on behalf of those whose voices are not heard, often driven by the Christian calling to “love your neighbour”. It moves beyond simple fundraising to address root causes of poverty and inequality. It empowers individuals to be agents of change in local and global communities.<\/p>\n

Lunch was cooked by our very own \u2018Katie Kitchen\u2019 and as always not only was the lunch delicious, but there were many complimentary comments made about it. Well done Katie!<\/p>\n

However, the \u2018Piece de la r\u00e9sistance\u2019 were the children themselves who following lunch, sang beautifully to an appreciative audience. The content of the songs were about the coming of springtime and involved the children harmonising, making actions and describing weather, flowers animals and insects, then wishing everyone a\u2026<\/p>\n
