On Tuesday 16th of December 2025 we went to St. Giles\u2019 church for a Christingle treasure hunt. This was an interactive worship session where the children followed a set of clues to find the parts of the Christingle before we made them. Revered Nicola joined us for our Christingle and concluded the worship with a prayer for us.<\/span><\/p>\n

The clues were:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 First, we need something that\u2019s round, like the world,<\/p>\n

Smaller than football, but bigger than pearl.<\/p>\n

Coloured the same as a wintery bird,<\/p>\n

Close to a table, it\u2019s hiding, I\u2019ve heard.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an orange \u2013 representing the world, how God made and loves his wonderful world and everyone in it.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 God\u2019s world is lovely, it\u2019s full of good things,<\/p>\n

Family, friends and the love that they bring.<\/p>\n

So our next treasure is tasty to eat.<\/p>\n

Find it concealed beside somebody\u2019s feet!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s sweets \u2013 representing the fruits of the earth, including all the food we enjoy, and our family and friends that we get to share our time with. God is pleased to give us good things and we can thank God for all His blessings.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Now we need four things to hold them up high.<\/p>\n

Four for the seasons that govern our time,<\/p>\n

And the directions of South, West, East, North.<\/p>\n

All time and space can be found by the door.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s cocktail sticks \u2013 representing that God\u2019s love is with us all the time through all the seasons, and He is all around us, in every direction.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0All round the middle goes something that\u2019s long.<\/p>\n

Red, for the things in the world that are wrong.<\/p>\n

Things that are broken, that Jesus can mend.<\/p>\n

Hiding now under the chair of a friend.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s red ribbon \u2013 representing the blood of Jesus that He gave for all mankind when He died on the cross. The ribbon also reminds us of a gift, because Jesus is God\u2019s gift to us.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

5.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Finally, something to show us the light,<\/p>\n

Good News that came on the first Christmas night.<\/p>\n

Mending our brokenness, now and for ever.<\/p>\n

Look by the window to find Christmas treasure.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a candle \u2013 representing Jesus as the light of the world.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

A Christingle represents that Jesus is the light of the world and these services are often held around Christmas time to remember Him and celebrate His birth, how the everlasting light came into the world.<\/p>\n
