{"id":11949,"date":"2024-08-30T11:40:23","date_gmt":"2024-08-30T11:40:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hartington.derbyshire.sch.uk\/?p=11949"},"modified":"2024-09-20T11:51:02","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T11:51:02","slug":"cadburys-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hartington.derbyshire.sch.uk\/?p=11949","title":{"rendered":"Cadbury&#8217;s World"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"11949\" class=\"elementor elementor-11949\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-71cfb402 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"71cfb402\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-403d7491\" data-id=\"403d7491\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-36abb79e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"36abb79e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The school year was brought to a wonderful end with a whole school trip to Cadbury\u2019s World in Bourneville near Birmingham.\u00a0 We picked Cadbury\u2019s World as Class 1 had been learning about South America throughout the Summer Term, looking at the geography, the climate, comparing with our own country and, of course, finding out about the history of chocolate!<\/p><p>We were blessed with fantastic weather for our trip and the journey passed quickly as we were all so excited.\u00a0 Our visit started with a presentation about the History of the Mayan people and the role of chocolate in their society.\u00a0 We took part in trying on Mayan clothing and head dresses, playing Mayan games, reading a codex which took the whole school to hold, and looking at artefacts.<\/p><p>We watched a brilliant interactive film about all thing\u2019s chocolate, wandered through the Mayan jungles discovering Mayan architecture and we even met the Cadbury\u2019s Mini Egg Bird who was very cuddly and posed for lots of photos!<\/p><p>We watched a demonstration of the making of chocolate from the bean to the bar and then we got hands on with the delicious chocolate ourselves, working the gooey liquid chocolate on the slabs and eventually trying out our decorating skills by writing and drawing with scrummy milk chocolate!<\/p><p>Our day wouldn\u2019t have been complete without a visit to the factory shop to bag some yummy treats to take home and some time having fun in the play park before heading home.\u00a0 A really memorable and fun way to end another packed school year!<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-9b9374d elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"9b9374d\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-98f84eb\" data-id=\"98f84eb\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The school year was brought to a wonderful end with a whole school trip to Cadbury\u2019s World in Bourneville near Birmingham.\u00a0 We picked Cadbury\u2019s World as Class 1 had been learning about South America throughout the Summer Term, looking at the geography, the climate, comparing with our own country and, of course, finding out about &hellip;
